Eligibility for Nomination:

Individual recipients shall be eligible for nomination 10 years after their graduation, while teams shall be eligible 10 years after the successful season that they are being nominated for. Coaches, administrators, or supportive roles shall be eligible for consideration upon the completion of a minimum of 5 years of service in the role they have been nominated for.

Individual recipients must have competed in a school-sanctioned varsity sport and must have excelled in such sport (or sports). Among the accomplishments taken into account will be individual (all-Conference, all-State, school records, and all other significant individual accomplishments) and team accomplishments (conference, state, and New England championships, etc). All recipients will be evaluated on their overall impact to the athletic program at Avon High School during their era and for notable accomplishments thereafter. Recipients must have graduated from Avon High School and be in good standing, with any special circumstances to be considered by the Nominating Committee.

As determined by the Nominating Committee, community contributors will also be considered based upon their service and dedication to the athletic programs at Avon High School.

The number of inductees per year can include up to four athletes, one coach, one team, and one contributor. During the first two years, the Nominating Committee shall reserve the right to induct multiple members within each category so as to develop a deserving, foundational membership for the Hall of Fame.

Please note that if an individual should be nominated while actively serving on the Nominating Committee, they shall remain ineligible for induction until their term of service on the Committee has been completed.

Nomination Process:

A candidate (individual, team, or contributor) may be nominated for Hall of Fame membership by any member of the community, with all formal nominations to be submitted using the nomination form available to the public through the Avon Falcons Hall of Fame website. All nominations dated and received by January 15th of the nominating year shall be evaluated by the Nominating Committee for induction in the Spring of that year. All applications shall remain confidential, and will be shared only among the members of the Nominating Committee. Information relating to a nominee's career statistics, records, achievements, etc. must be supported by accompanying documentation or sources cited so that the information may be verified independently. Nominations that are submitted after January 15th shall remain active for consideration in the following induction year.

Once an induction class has been evaluated and ultimately selected, all who have submitted nominations shall be contacted with the status of their nominee. Nominees selected for induction will be contacted directly by the Nominating Committee, and all candidates not immediately selected for induction will have their nomination carried forward for consideration in subsequent years. Those nominations that are carried forward can be supplemented with additional information deemed appropriate by the Nominating Committee and the individual submitting the original nomination.
