  J.D. Kosakowski

J.D. Kosakowski’s legacy at Avon High School is defined by his excellence in soccer and tennis. A rare two-sport All-State athlete, JD excelled on both the court and the field, capturing a Class S doubles championship in tennis and back-to-back state championships in soccer (1987, 1988). During his tenure, Avon soccer reached the national stage, finishing the season ranked #2 in the country by USA Today.

Widely considered the most prolific pure scorer in the program’s history, JD’s name still covers the record books. He holds the single-season scoring record (35 goals), the career scoring record (60 goals), and the most goals scored in state tournament play (18). In his senior year JD was recognized for his dominance on the soccer field earning him All-Conference, All-State, and All-New England honors, as well as the Soccer Officials Award.

Following his storied high school career, JD became a four-year starter and senior captain for the Harvard University soccer team. He later earned his MBA from Emory University and spent 18 years in equities market making. Today, JD is back in Atlanta working in the Fintech startup space. He is the proud father of three college athletes: two sons playing lacrosse for UVM and UMASS Lowell, and a daughter playing club soccer at the University of Arizona.
